Streaming Tank, part of the Creative Tank Group logistics and digital marketing agency, specializes in advanced live and on-demand video streaming. Following the successful use of Digital Rapids StreamZ media encoding systems on the 2006 The Who concert tour (read the full case study here), Streaming Tank has continued to depend on StreamZ encoders for numerous major projects.

EA Games
In association with EA Games, we hosted an extremely successful series of webcasts streamed live from EA’s “Be the One” three-day extravaganza in Trafalgar Square in London. Live streaming was done daily from 11:30am to 8:00pm, featuring games competitions involving celebrities and gamers, the premiere of the new The Simpsons game, and concerts from a number of pop artists.
 Knowing that Streaming Tank had a successful track record for this type of event, EA Games chose us to provide all of the encoding and streaming aspects of the event. We use only Digital Rapids encoders for all our projects, taking video feeds – provided by XLVideo – from the large plasma screens together with audio from the PA system, and putting the result on the Internet. The event was streamed live to the EA Games main website and to MySpace. Although it is usually possible to stream to any of multiple format choices, My Space required us to use only Adobe Flash video, so we used Digital Rapids’ On2 VP6 encoder option for Flash and utilized Limelight, one of the companies within the Streaming Tank offering of Content Delivery Networks.
