Installation Notes

If you are updating from Stream 1.5 and you have projects, codec profiles, capture logs, etc., once you open them and save them in Stream 2 you will not be able to reopen them in Stream 1.5.

To encode QuickTime files using Stream 2.4 you must install QuickTime 7. Note that Stream 2.4 is not compatible with QuickTime 6.

System Requirements

Digital Rapids Stream hardware runs on a PC with a Microsoft Windows operating system. Windows XP users must be using Service Pack 2.

Note that Stream version 2.x has new system requirements (versus version 1.5). The minimum CPU is now an Intel Pentium 4 processor, with the recommended CPU now dual Intel processors at 3 GHz or higher. Please see the DRC Hardware System Requirements page for additional system requirements, and the DRC-Stream Hardware Guide for installation details.

Note: The number of streams that you can encode in real time (and their resolution/bit rate) is dependant on the speed of your CPU.

An IEEE-1394 port on the host system motherboard or OHCI-compliant IEEE-1394 add-on card in the host system is required for DV input with the DRC-1600 and DRC-2600.

License for Stream LE 2.4

If you have Stream LE 1.5 you can run Stream LE 2.4 with your existing license. You do not require a new license.

License for StreamPro 2.4 or StreamEnterprise 2.4

If you have a StreamPro or StreamEnterprise 2.0 to 2.3 license you will not need a new 2.4 license. If you have a StreamPro 1.5 license or a StreamEnterprise 1.5 license you must obtain a StreamPro 2.4 or StreamEnterprise 2.4 license. Upgrading from version 1.5 to version 2.4 will give you the new enhancements in version 2.4 plus all of the significant capabilities added in StreamPro and StreamEnterprise versions 2.0 to 2.3.
