April 8, 2002 Digital Rapids Corp. Announces StreamStation, a Dual Channel, Streaming Media Encoding and Batch Processing Workstation
allowing each encoded output stream to be fully optimized from the highest quality source material. StreamStation relieves the burden on networks and professional video equipment by recording once at high quality and processing subsequent files from the locally available media. StreamStation supports encoding to Microsoft Windows (wmv, asf, avi), Real (Real 8), MPEG-1, MPEG-2, and MPEG-4 formats. Once batch processing of each file is completed, it can be automatically copied to other areas of the network or automatically uploaded via ftp to remote sites.
“The StreamStation workstation is the most powerful digital media processing workstation available. It allows you to mix and match output codecs with almost unlimited variations. You could for instance use one channel of video capture and processing to encode video to high quality DVD compatible MPEG-2 format and use the other channel to archive and stream multiple real, windows, and MPEG-4 format media streams.” said Brick Eksten, President of Digital Rapids.
