Digital Rapids Corporation Ships StreamZ XS Line of Dual Xeon Processor Based Turnkey, Dual Channel Streaming Media Encoding and Batch Processing Servers
StreamZ XS products are designed for batch digitizing of existing content through direct control of professional video tape recorders (RS-422 & GPI) as well as processing live video in to live streaming out and archiving. Batch digitizing happens at full broadcast quality allowing each encoded output stream to be fully optimized from the highest quality source material. StreamZ XS relieves the burden on networks and professional video equipment by recording once at high quality and processing subsequent files from the locally available media. StreamZ XS supports encoding to Microsoft Windows Media 9, Real (Real 9), MPEG-1, MPEG-2, and MPEG-4 formats. Once batch processing of each file is completed it can be automatically copied to other areas of the network or uploaded via ftp to remote sites.
“This combination of dedicated video processing using our Stream 2500 hardware, scalable horsepower using Intel Xeon Processors, and our flexible software based media encoding architecture allows us to encode more streams at higher resolutions and higher quality than any other solution available.” says Brick Eksten, President of Digital Rapids. “We think that this combination of our proprietary video processing and this latest generation of codec technology from Microsoft and Real should give broadcasters a reason to look seriously at what is possible using software based video and audio compression. The quality of these codecs is amazing. The StreamZ XS is a necessary evolution for our product line so we can match up the latest in Intel processing technology and the latest codec technology from Microsoft and Real. These latest codecs demand significantly more horsepower than previous generations and the StreamZ XS is able to deliver, it is simply the most powerful media encoding solution available.”
