Sept 1, 2005 MTV Interactive Looks to Increase Digital Rapids Presence
Passfield, UK: At MTV UK, the Interactive Divisions are using Digital Rapids’ StreamZ encoder to streamline workflow. MTV is also looking closely at the capabilities of Digital Rapids’ Copper for fast and secure delivery of high quality video files.
With Mobile communications now a major aspect of MTV’s remit, this business sector has been building steadily over the last 3 years. MTV handles a variety of content each day, typically distributing 3 sets of 2 minute clips (33 clips per week) as MPEG2 and 3GP files to all the major mobile phone operators in the UK and across Europe. Content is distributed across a number of countries including UK, Germany, Austria, Israel, Japan, Russia and Nordic countries.
MTV UK Interactive digitizes files for DVDs and promos and provides internal and external webcasts. Located at MTV Studios in London, the team has access to all incoming and outgoing video feeds across MTV Europe.

The MTV Interactive service is increasing on a constant basis, and StreamZ is also used for encoding demos as MPEG files for interactive TV, mobiles and the web.
