Digital Rapids Named to Inaugural Streaming Media 100 List for Impact on Online Video
Markham, Ontario: Digital Rapids has been selected by Streaming Media magazine as one of the inaugural Streaming Media 100, defined by the publication as "the 100 companies that matter most in online video."
The goal of the Streaming Media 100 list was to identify the companies that are the most important, most innovative, have had the most impact on the space in the recent past and are likely to continue to do so in the future. From an initial list of nearly 200 companies proposed by Streaming Media magazine's staff and contributing editors, the judges discussed and debated the relative merits of each until arriving at the final list. Companies evaluated spanned the entire online video ecosystem, from content creation and production, to ingest and encoding, to distribution, syndication, and monetization.
"The companies in the Streaming Media 100 represent many different pieces of the online video ecosystem," said Streaming Media editor Eric Schumacher-Rasmussen, "but they all have one thing in common -- the world of online video today would be markedly different without any of them. Each one, in its own way, has made the online video industry what it is today and is pushing it towards the future."
"We're excited that the respected experts at Streaming Media have recognized us as one of the most important companies in the online video space," said Brick Eksten, President of Digital Rapids Corporation. "This recognition is a testament to our commitment to providing our customers with innovative solutions that help them most effectively use streaming and multi-screen media to achieve their goals, and we're as proud of our role in our customers' continued success as we are of our own achievements. This acknowledgement is also a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire Digital Rapids team, and I'd like to thank not only the Streaming Media 100 judges but also our own talented employees."
