Digital Rapids Ships StreamZ, a Turnkey, Dual Channel, Streaming Media Encoding Solution
Richmond Hill, Ontario Canada: Digital Rapids Corp. announced today it is shipping Digital Rapids StreamZ, a new line of turnkey streaming media encoding solutions. The StreamZ is the world’s first turnkey streaming media encoding solution to include motion adaptive de-interlacing and high quality 3D noise reduction. StreamZ solutions are based on Digital Rapids DRC-Stream hardware and carrier quality chassis solutions supplied by Crystal Group. StreamZ will debut at NAB 2002 at the Sands Convention Center booth S6761.
StreamZ products are designed for live video in to live streaming out and archiving installations. Each StreamZ unit is capable of encoding simultaneously in Windows Media (WMV) and Real video formats and can easily handle multiple resolutions and multiple bit rates in real-time. StreamZ solutions feature professional video inputs including composite, Y/C, component, DV, and SDI. Each StreamZ can be configured as analog only or analog plus digital (SDI/DV). Analog solutions feature balanced and unbalanced audio, digital solutions include AES, DV, and embedded SDI audio. StreamZ solutions feature powerful video and audio pre-processing capabilities with up to two channels of video processing and up to 8 channels of audio. Each real-time hardware video processing channel features advanced motion adaptive de-interlacing, inverse telecine, high quality scaling (shrink/zoom), cropping, proc-amp controls, 2D and 3D (temporal) noise reduction, and aspect ratio control. Each real-time hardware audio channel features a 7-band parametric EQ (programmable filters), dynamic range compression, loudness contouring, and sample rate conversion. StreamZ products are controlled by DRC-Stream native software (Microsoft Windows XP) or by DRC-Stream remote software which can be controlled through a standard internet browser.
“StreamZ is the first all in one streaming media encoding solution to include high quality motion adaptive de-interlacing and 3D noise reduction technologies. These capabilities allow the StreamZ to produce streams in real-time that are higher quality, and which utilize less bandwidth than those created by competing systems.” said Brick Eksten, President of Digital Rapids. “Equipped with dual channel video capture and processing, the StreamZ is capable of processing two live video streams independently, while encoding and archiving simultaneously to all the popular web streaming formats. The StreamZ can target Windows, Mac, Linux, and PDA platforms simultaneously with optimized high quality video, ranging in resolution from postage stamp sized through full broadcast resolution.”
