April 14, 2004 Digital Rapids Introduces Copper, a Reliable Wirespeed Data Delivery Solution with Integrated Security and Transcoding Capabilities
NAB2004, Las Vegas, Nevada: Digital Rapids, a leader in video ingest, transcoding, and media delivery systems, introduces Copper, a product that brings wirespeed delivery of data and integrated transcoding to the professional media market. Copper has been created in partnership with Digital Fountain, the recognized leader in reliable and fast data delivery.
Copper solves a number of problems faced daily by studios as they move to a completely tapeless environment, by providing security, high speed delivery, transcoding, and proof of delivery.
Copper comes with integrated security, providing complete end-to-end secure media transfer. Copper can also be licensed to send simultaneously to multiple locations or allow only specific point to point connectivity.
Copper uses Digital Fountain’s patented meta-content technology to overcome traditional problems with moving large amounts of data over long distances. This allows Copper to deliver data at very high data rates, using up to 100% of the available network resources despite any latency or loss that may be present.
Copper integrates on demand transcoding of content to further accelerate delivery of media. Projects can deliver multiple formats from the same video or digital source material.
Copper is available as turnkey servers and stand alone software. Options for Copper include:
- Copper DDD – Data only transmitter and client
- Copper DMA – Integrated transcoding and delivery transmitter and client software
- Copper plugin for existing and future Digital Rapids Stream products.
- Live video ingest option allows direct support for any Digital Rapids video capture product.
