Digital Rapids Bringing Encoding and Streaming Leadership to InfoComm

Markham, Ontario: Digital Rapids will showcase a selection of its award-winning media encoding and streaming systems at the annual InfoComm exhibition for the first time this year. Best known for providing industry-leading media solutions to top-tier entertainment organizations (such as NBC Universal) and major worldwide event coverage (such as the 2008 Beijing Olympics with NBC, CCTV and other broadcasters), Digital Rapids is bringing its acclaimed technologies and expertise to broader markets with new solutions featuring new form factors, unprecedented ease of use and breakthrough affordability. Digital Rapids solutions will be demonstrated in booth 2774.

"Many of the key challenges facing the markets served by InfoComm attendees parallel those faced by major media and entertainment organizations -- reaching larger audiences, reducing costs, and doing more with a smaller staff and less equipment," said Mike Nann, Director of Marketing and Communications at Digital Rapids. "Solutions such as our new TouchStream appliances address these needs with the same advanced technology and visual quality as our most sophisticated systems, combined with easier-to-use interfaces and outstanding price points that make them even more accessible to AV professionals within all types of businesses and institutions."

The centerpiece of Digital Rapids' InfoComm exhibit will be the revolutionary new TouchStream portable live streaming appliance. TouchStream delivers Digital Rapids' renowned streaming video quality in a fully self-contained, easy-to-deploy portable form factor. Leveraging the most intuitive of human interfaces -- touch -- TouchStream appliances offer unparalleled ease of use while providing flexible features. Streamlined software controls are accessed through a touch-screen interface with integrated live video monitoring, eliminating the need for laptops, keyboards, mice and separate monitors. Features including picture controls and graphic overlay allow refinement of the incoming source and the addition of branding to the outgoing stream.

Designed for use in the field, on a desktop or on a rack shelf, TouchStream appliances are ideal for live streaming of events such as concerts and sporting matches; courtroom proceedings; PEG (public, education and government) applications; corporate communications; worship and more. TouchStream recently added to its impressive collection of industry accolades, receiving a 2009 Vidy Award from Videography magazine at the NAB Show in April. The Vidy Award is the fifth honor for TouchStream since its unveiling in September.

Additional products that will be featured at InfoComm include:

  • StreamZ media encoding systems combine top output quality with unmatched versatility, providing video capture, encoding, transcoding and streaming in multiple simultaneous formats in a single unit. With support for more than two dozen output formats, StreamZ systems enable applications from live streaming and on-demand web content creation to archive, Blu-ray/DVD authoring and more.

  • The Digital Rapids Broadcast Manager software provides remote management and control of multiple live streaming encoders. Features include centralized monitoring, scheduling, failover, source router control and more.
