MediaMesh (Page 2)

Fast, Full-Featured and Flexible

The MediaMesh content delivery system provides a scalable, robust delivery infrastructure that lets organizations realize the full benefits of all-digital distribution, even over public networks such as the Internet. Built on Digital Rapids C2 data delivery technology, MediaMesh features an unparalleled combination of acceleration, reliability, security and efficiency for transferring content files and associated metadata to multiple recipients. MediaMesh supports distribution models including satellite (multicast), terrestrial IP-based networks (unicast or multicast) or hybrids with intelligent routing.

MediaMesh contribution tools enable streamlined workflows for content submission and collaboration, while the MediaMesh RX receiving appliance forms the ideal endpoint of the digital distribution chain, combining integrated inventory control, visual verification, repackaging and output with an intuitive graphical interface.

Submission Made Simple

MediaMesh Web SubmitterMedia and associated metadata can be submitted into the MediaMesh distribution system through a web-based portal. The MediaMesh Web Submitter automatically conforms the submitted file and creates proxies and thumbnail images, which are combined with the media and metadata into complete content packages for transport. Packaged content from Digital Rapids encoding and transcoding systems can be sent directly through the C2 delivery software, while open APIs enable submission through third-party and custom applications.

Intuitive, Intelligent Receiving

The MediaMesh RX receiving appliance forms the ideal endpoint of the digital delivery chain, combining comprehensive receiving and inventory features with Digital Rapids' best-in-class media transformation capabilities. Features including receipt confirmation, visual QC (quality control) verification, inventory management, transcoding, repackaging, transfer to distribution servers, print-to-tape and playout are tightly integrated in an intuitive graphical interface.

MediaMesh RX User Interface - Player

MediaMesh's touch screen interface allows users to manage media operations with a simple touch, while full keyboard and mouse support is available to streamline processes such as metadata editing.

Inventoried content assets and their associated monetization-enabling metadata and resources can be exported and repackaged for specific delivery requirements (such as VOD specifications) or broadcast servers. Repackaging and conforming to local format requirements at the receiving "edge" increases distribution efficiency by reducing the need to deliver multiple variants from the source, while eliminating errors caused by the sender delivering an incorrect or incompatible format. Optional transcoding through Digital Rapids Transcode Manager allows media files to be repurposed for any target platform.

Playout-enabled MediaMesh RX models include HD/SD-SDI output. Ancillary metadata received with the original incoming content shipment can be recombined with the video during the playout process. Multiple clips can be trimmed and arranged in playlists for output. Playout can be controlled manually (including print-to-tape for RS-422 controlled decks), via RS-422 VTR emulation or through an external automation system using the VDCP protocol.
